Visionary of God is Pastor Shad Strother's personal testimony-a true-life journey through hardship, survival, family, forgiveness, faith, spiritual awakening, and what he describes as a life-changing encounter with God. From a childhood marked by abuse, neglect, confusion, and unanswered questions, Shad tells the story of a young boy who continued calling out to God even before he understood the answers he believed he was receiving.
As his life unfolds, those early experiences become part of a much larger spiritual journey. Shad recounts moments of desperation, relationships, fatherhood, sacrifice, forgiveness, baptism, loss, healing, and the growing realization that events he once saw only as struggles were, in his understanding, preparing him for something greater. At the center of the book is the extraordinary experience he calls The Great Vision-an experience he says transformed his understanding of his life, his relationship with God, and his purpose. The book presents these experiences explicitly as Pastor Shad's personal testimony and faith-based understanding.
Visionary of God then takes the reader inside that vision and the revelations Shad says followed it-exploring darkness and light, spiritual struggle, transformation, hope, salvation, the Tree of Life, the Church of God, humanity's spiritual hunger, and what he describes as the "pieces of eternal life." Throughout the journey, one message grows increasingly clear: the vision was not, in Shad's understanding, simply something for him to experience. He believes its message was meant to be carried forward and shared with others.
But this book is also about the man before the vision. It is about where he came from, what he survived, the people who shaped him, the mistakes and struggles along the way, the power of forgiveness, and the moments when he believes God was speaking long before he understood whose voice he was hearing. The book itself describes the journey as one of calling, seeing, and revelation-"Hearing God's Voice . Entering the Vision . Returning with Revelation."
And Visionary of God is only Book One.
Pastor Shad makes clear that this volume tells only part of his story. The journey continues beyond these pages, with additional experiences, encounters, miracles, and revelations intended for future books.
