Zusammenfassung

"Is this God's will for my life?" It's the question that keeps people up at night - over a job offer, a relationship, a move across the country, or simply the quiet fear that they're headed the wrong direction altogether. After forty years as a pastor and evangelist, Michael C Herbert has sat across from thousands of people wrestling with exactly that question. In How To Know the Will of God?, he lays out what four decades of ministry have taught him: discerning God's will isn't guesswork, and it isn't a formula either - it's a pattern you can learn to recognize.

Drawing on Scripture, circumstance, the Holy Spirit's inner witness, wise counsel, and the peace of God - five trustworthy witnesses that confirm one another - this book gives you a practical way to test decisions big and small, and shows you what to do when those witnesses seem to disagree.

Inside, you'll find:

  • A clear, workable framework for discerning God's will - tested through prayer, obedience, and patience, not guesswork
  • The difference between God's moral will (never in question) and His directional will (uniquely yours) - a distinction the author calls one of the most freeing truths in Scripture
  • Honest engagement with questions many believers carry in silence, including a compassionate, biblically grounded look at a believer's eternal security after suicide
  • Real stories drawn from a life of ministry - feeding children in inner-city Milwaukee alongside his son, book donations turned away twice before a door finally opened, and the altar call that changed the course of his life
  • Scripture throughout in the NIV, carefully checked chapter by chapter

Herbert writes as a pastor who has walked with people through prison cells, rescue missions, and mission fields from Poland to Israel - not as a theologian working from a desk. The result is a book that is deeply biblical and unmistakably practical: honest about the waiting, honest about the doubt, and confident that God still speaks clearly to those who are listening.

If you've ever asked, "God, what do You want me to do?" - this book was written for you.

Michael C Herbert was born March 7 with Cerebral Palsy. Her is the author of 11 books, including The Master of Broken Lives, Overcome, Two Worlds, What if my Healing Never Comes, Entering Your New Promised Land, The Peasant from Santa Maria (English and Spanish), The Lost Art of Humility, A Table for One, and his Children's series who also won him a finalist award for I am Wonderfully Made in God's Image. 3,000 are used by Operation Christmas Child, a Part of Samaritans Purse, 240 of his Spanish books went to Guatemala, 10 to Brazil in Brazilian Portuguese. He is working with other pastors to possible promote his books in other countries. The book is also available in Chinese. He is a Pastor, Elder, and Evangelist at Eagles Nest Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and a two-time Kingdom Book Award National Finalist. His ministry reaches beyond the church walls into Wisconsin's prison system and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, where he brings the hope of Christ to inmates and to men and women facing homelessness and hardship. He regularly conducts services in churches and conferences across Wisconsin and Illinois, and occasionally New York. His media work includes a Pro-Life radio and TV show on WVCY and appearances on Milwaukee's Joy 1340 radio. He is a 1999 graduate of the International School of Christ in Beaumont, Texas, and his testimony has been featured on the Bold Existence YouTube channel.Michael is a speaker and board member of the Never Alone Community. He has spoken at both Teen Challenge and Celebrate Recovery groups. Michael has also preached for several years at the Niagara Falls Gospel Rescue Mission in New York.Michael is also a multimedia storyteller, songwriter, and visual artist based in the Milwaukee area, writing and producing music on his YouTube channel (@ru4lifefaithchurchnb) and connecting with his community on Facebook. His creative work spans genres of Christian music, from biblical devotionals to secular health anthems - and moves across books, songs, and videos with equal parts poetic sensitivity and technical precision. At the heart of it all is a passion for transforming pain into purpose. Michael's books and music invite readers and listeners to wrestle with hard questions, find beauty in brokenness, and rediscover the sacred in everyday life - soul-level encouragement for anyone navigating grief, illness, or spiritual doubt.
