He has over 25 years of experience in tertiary-level teacher education and has served as Head of Department for Early Childhood Education and Director of the Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development at UEW. He is the Managing Editor of the International Journal for Early Childhood Care and Educational Research and has authored several textbooks and course books in early childhood and special education.
