Zusammenfassung

"This richly visualised and beautifully detailed graphic biography is absolutely guaranteed to tell you (Or show you!) something you don't know about William Shakespeare." - Isabel Greenberg

"A wonderful graphic history that really comes off the page at you with a harmony of images and words that vividly animate and knowingly illuminate the life and work of our greatest writer." - Jake Arnott

Written by Shakespeare scholar and Sunday Times bestselling author Emma Smith, this unique graphic novel tells the complete story of the Bard's life - interweaving references to his enduring works - immersing us deep in one of the greatest imaginations of all time.

From humble beginnings as a glovemaker to rising cultural icon in bohemian theatre, from intimate family life to culture-defining plays, this vivid biography imagines all the pivotal moments of Shakespeare's life and his captivating world.

Split into 5 Acts set in 16th-century England with all its vibrancy and chaos, this book describes Shakespeare's struggles with identity; his personal crises over wealth, success and selling out; and his rivalries with some of the period's most colourful characters.

Colourful, stirring and hugely entertaining, this is the Shakespeare biography every fan must have.
