IT. La sera sta scendendo, il cielo si riempie di nuvole nere, la pioggia
inizia a battere sui vetri delle finestre, dapprima debolmente, poi con
forza. In casa si sta bene, magari c'è un camino acceso con un bel fuoco, e qualcuno ha appena chiesto di ascoltare una storia di fantasmi.
È come un rito antico che per secoli si è ripetuto. Lo fanno i profughi
tedeschi di Goethe scappati da una guerra al confine con la Francia;
lo fa Bertha, che racconta a suo marito Eckbert e al loro comune amico Walther la strana storia della sua infanzia fatata; lo fanno i pochi
personaggi riuniti in una antica magione dove Douglas annuncia che
racconterà una storia destinata a dare "due giri di vite" al mistero e
alla paura. Dietro quella paura c'è il desiderio. Il desiderio che ci avvolge quando leggiamo, ascoltiamo o guardiamo una storia narrata,
seguendo il dispiegarsi della trama che disegna un destino fatto di
significato. Fantasmi parla di storie che si incontrano in libri e in film,
storie in cui il soprannaturale si mescola alla follia. Seguendo la nascita, lo sviluppo e l'esaurirsi del soprannaturale psichico, un modo
