What if the future was lost somewhere in the past?
When the world's most notorious serial killer escapes from prison and disappears to a place in time few others even know, Chicago, 1871, Shannon Knight, former time-security officer, has no choice but to go after him. With the ability to leap through time to various time quadrants, she plans to find him and use whatever means necessary to keep him from increasing his number of victims or perhaps changing history. What she doesn't plan for is a little five-year-old girl who captures her heart, or the girl's father - who also captures her heart. Yet, the most important rule of time travel remains: she can't go back in time and change anything. Or can she? Did she already, just by landing there? And what about those lives she's touched? Can she save them? Because time is running out. A fire grows closer with each passing day, and danger lurks in the shadows in the form of a killer bent on changing the future.
