This study is carried out by the Red de Maestros investigadores Red GIRA from the rurality research line in the educational institution La Leonera, township of Santiago de Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. It consists of a hopeful look at the territory to visualize educational practices that involve the reality of the contexts, in tune with the objectives of sustainable development and productivity for the economic progress of the population, it also performs an analysis of school environmental projects to visualize actions in favor of the environment. Within the research proposal, three visits to the rural educational institution are assumed to know from primary sources the reality of the territory, semi-structured interviews to the Directors, research grid, and social cartography were part of the collection of information to different members of the educational community of La Leonera, located in the cliffs of Cali, bordered by water, with a diversity of flora and fauna, a prosperous territory, which in its main office and in the primary schools offers quality education to the students.
