Craig and Tom, two ultra-low-budget amateur filmmakers, finally catch a break and get discovered. Unfortunately, their benefactor comes in the form of a secret branch of the United States government instead of a Hollywood producer. They are tasked with finding a solution to prevent the spread of a zombie-like virus which plays out like one of their well-scripted but poorly acted and produced films.

After accidentally overdosing on the synthesized cure, the pair of misfits get dropped in the middle of the quarantine zone in an effort to stem the outbreak. Against the odds, and the wishes of their government handler, Agent Carter, the duo stumble their way to survival, creating more chaos in their wake. They unwittingly put humanity on the precipice of destruction as they battle not only zombies but also werewolves and aliens.
