Although the two are expressed differently, they share a common spiritual core in exploring the "essence of life" and "laws of the universe": the core concept of Taoism, "Dao," is regarded as the origin of the universe and the fundamental law of the operation of all things ("Dao gives birth to one, gives birth to two, gives birth to three, and gives birth to all things").

This corresponds to the understanding in divine consciousness that 'the divine origin is the source of everything, and consciousness derives from the origin'.

Taoism pursues the state of "attaining the Tao", that is, returning to the state of unity with the Tao; And divine consciousness emphasizes the "connection to the origin", which is essentially an exploration of "returning to the essence of life".

Confucianism, Neo Confucianism, and other schools of thought attach great importance to the cultivation of the "nature of the heart".

For example, the prophet Wang Yangming proposed that "the heart is reason" and "to the conscience", believing that human beings inherently possess wisdom and goodness, which can be awakened through inward perception.

This is highly consistent with the concept that true consciousness is an inherent wisdom within the body that needs to be activated through awakening - both recognize that 'there is truth within' and that there is no need to seek it externally.

Traditional Chinese culture, especially Confucianism and Taoism, generally advocates the concept of "unity of heaven and man", believing that humans, nature, and the universe are organic entities rather than separate entities.
