When the last survivors of the Middleborough disaster escape into the Coil with nothing but the clothes on their backs, the only thing keeping them alive was Wesh's and Eliska's magic.
Now Wesh is dead and the ever-shifting Coil has stripped Eliska of the magic that has kept her going all her life. With her world in turmoil and no way to save herself or anyone around her, she must fall back on the most unlikely allies-the Black Watchmen who escaped from Middleborough with her.
With everything at stake, the group is going to find out that it takes more than just magic to survive the Corrupted Coil. Human relationships, friendship, and even the love of family are much more important when the chips are really down, but what will the friends do when they lose that, too?
