MATT CAPUTO was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He holds a doctorate in Mathematics Education
from Teacher's College, Columbia University (Class of 2010) in New York City and has worked as both a high
school math teacher and a university professor for 23 years, recently having been awarded a placement in
Marquis Who's Who in America, 2025 Edition. As an educator, Matt has tried to be a point of contact for
students and colleagues to help with "crises" in all aspects of their lives, whether academic, professional, or personal, trying to inspire them to live
by the idea of "Stop changing yourself to fi t the world, but start changing the world to fi t you."
While working in education, creative writing had been a hobby. Matt never considered it any more than something to do quietly in the middle of
the night when insomnia wins its daily battle. Over time, the limited audience of friends and family that had read these manuscripts (one of which nearly
grounded an airplane by yelling, 'Oh S**t!' and jumping from her seat midflight when reaching a particular plot-twist) finally convinced Matt to attempt
getting some of his work published to be read around the world (hopefully!).
Currently, Matt lives in the suburbs of Houston, Texas with his husband, Tim, their dog, and their several cats. It has been a bumpy ride over the years, but "some people need to buy tickets to ride rollercoasters; I just need to wake up in the morning."
