Constance Moore is an artist, educator, and author-illustrator based in Oakland, California. Known for her richly textured artwork and vibrant use of color, she is the creator of the acclaimed Colors of My Life series, including Brown: The Many Shades of Love. An elementary-school art teacher and lifelong storyteller, Moore creates books that celebrate creativity, history, identity, and self-expression. A Language of Stitches: The Radical Quilts of Rosie Lee Tompkins is her author-illustrator debut and a tribute to one of the most innovative artists in American history.
