The God of the Bible is Yahweh, appearing 6,828 times in the Old Testament manuscripts, translated in Portuguese Bibles as Lord. A comparative study of God s attributes indicates that He is triune. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons, and within a composite unity, they form one God. Numerous pieces of evidence in the universe reveal to us that there is an Almighty Being who created and sustains the universe. This God accompanies all the events of history and even the personal lives of each human being. He wants to draw closer to us; we only need to reach Him. This book reveals the characteristics of God and shows that Jesus Christ was God who took on the form of a man and dwelt among us. Theology is the study of God. It is true that, due to His immensity, man will never comprehend God s infinity, eternity, and all-powerful nature. However, the Lord God left us the Bible as a collection of books that reveals part of God s character, enough to make us love and fear Him. God has not forgotten humanity, and He wants to restore us so that we can live eternally with Him; we simply need to recognize His sovereignty. God is the essence of light, truth, justice, perfection, and all spiritual virtues. Our sins and corrupt nature are the greatest obstacles preventing us from communing with Him.
