He earned his PhD from the University of Iceland, focusing on material culture, nationalism, and colonialism. Parigoris is a sessional teacher at the University of Iceland, where he has taught courses in archaeological methodology, theoretical archaeology, gender archaeology, and theories in the humanities. His research explores how archaeology shapes national identity and deconstructs nationalist narratives, with a focus on the role of material culture in historical discourse.
