Rebecca Jean Downey was born in Indiana and received a B.A. from Indiana University School of Journalism, with a double major in Russian Foreign Policy. On her first job as a newspaper reporter, Rebecca was assigned to the crime beat, which inspired a lifelong interest in law enforcement and the criminal mind. Throughout her career in higher education, Rebecca never lost her passion for criminal justice issues, often writing articles for newspapers and magazines.
