The author has lived a full life with his wife, Bernice, of 66 years and their three children and eight grandchildren, now all adults and successful in their own sphere of influence. Allan and Bernice reside in Fresno , CA. Their three children and eight grand-children are scattered across the country and growing in their personal wisdom and accomplishments.

Dr. Hedberg has been actively involved in his community and church as has his entire family over four generations.

Writing is a joy and a privilege. He loves sharing his ideas and concerns with you, his reading audience. Besides his books, he has produced a Blog, THE PSYCHOLOGY REPORT BLOG, and a You Tube series on the family, BOYS TO MEN. He has lectured on issues of the family to many different audiences.

Dr. Hedberg has produced an online continuing education course for nurses, The Aging Brain. He has also developed four continuing education courses for teachers offered through Fresno Pacific University. His most recent course, in partnership with his Son-in-Law, Rob Carey, is on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Daily Living. It is listed as one of The Great Courses based on the book by Dr. Jason M. Statterfield.

His eight years of professional teaching at the graduate school level and his fifty-five years of professional practice as a therapist, have been most rewarding. His interaction with students and patients has been a strong contributing factor to his own personal growth and development as a man, husband, father, grandfather, mentor, friend, and man of faith. He has learned and he has contributed. He has reaped enjoyment, shared in the successes of many and has entered into the sorrows of many. He has enjoyed the friendships of many and has felt the deep hurt of the few who turned out to be self-seeking "turncoats." He has savored his many accomplishments, while also feeling the deep hurt of disappointment and failure. He has enjoyed good health and stamina, while tolerating a few times of illness. And, he recalls only being absent from his office twice over the years, and those were only half days.

In spite of it all, he keeps going motivated by his personal adage, "KEEP THE FAITH, UTMOST."
