Ivelisse Desjardins is a compassionate special care counselor with over two decades of experience, nurturing and empowering students with special needs and those from Spanish-speaking backgrounds, and helping their families. Since working as a Community Language Facilitator in Jupiter, Florida, Ivelisse has been dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for every child she encounters. Originally from Puerto Rico, Ivelisse's academic journey began with a bachelor's degree in Communications and a minor in Advertising. Although she initially embarked on a career in advertising, she soon recognized that her true passion lay in uplifting individuals and guiding them toward their fullest potential.After moving to Canada, Ivelisse pursued further studies to become a Special Care Counsellor, fully embracing her calling. Her career in special education has been marked by her innovative approach to developing tools and techniques that significantly improve the quality of life for her students. She has written books about self-help and recently started creating children's books. Outside the classroom, Ivelisse treasures her family life, delights in cooking for her loved ones, and eagerly returns to Puerto Rico whenever possible to reconnect with her roots.
