M.A. Tucker is a passionate writer, cultural analyst, and literary activist who is deeply committed to using her platform to address social justice, economic empowerment, and the importance of representation in media. Born and raised in New York City, she has spent her career advocating for the voices of marginalized communities, particularly within the realms of education, culture, and media. With a background in psychology and education, Tucker uses her unique perspective to explore the intersections of race, media, and representation. As a mother and an intellectual, she is dedicated to amplifying the narratives of Black women throughout history, championing diverse and transformative media representation, and fostering an environment where social activism and economic change intersect. Tucker's work spans several genres, including books on economic empowerment, transformative media, poetry and children's literature that teaches lessons about inclusivity, kindness, and environmental awareness. Her advocacy extends beyond her writing, as she actively works with organizations that promote media literacy, anti-violence efforts, and the empowerment of Black creatives. Her dedication to the betterment of her community and society as a whole drives everything she does. In her free time, Tucker enjoys gardening, spending time with her cats, and continuing to explore ways in which we can build a more equitable and inclusive world through both small and large actions.
