Father Maurice Meschler, S.J., lived in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. His biography St. Aloysius Gonzaga: Patron of Christian Youth was published in 1911 by B. Herder Book Company, London. The work was dedicated to Mary Immaculate, Queen of Virgin Souls, and was republished by TAN in 1985. In it is recorded St. Aloysius\' selfless decision of renouncing all to become a Jesuit priest, which he initiated at the remarkable age of six.
