The development of Arab medicine has gone through a number of stages, the most important of which are: authorship and exploration, which is the stage in which Arab doctors traveled and migrated from their countries of origin to other countries in order to learn about diseases, and with other doctors who were interested in studying medical science, so that Muslim doctors created a collection of useful medical literature that contributed to enriching the Arab medical library. The stage of translation and transmission came, which was the stage that relied on the use of Western and Persian medical literature, and what was transferred from Mesopotamia, and the Arab doctors were keen to take the appropriate conclusion from the literature that they studied, and then added it to the translated literature that they had compiled, while being keen to ensure the authenticity of what they obtained, through experience, inspection, and continuous medical follow-up.
