Matthew Caputo was born on Long Island, New York. While pursuing a career as a mathematics teacher and college professor, writing has always been a hobby since he was a child. He has had some works of poetry published in the past. He has graduated from Teacher's College, Columbia University in New York City with a doctorate in Mathematics Education. Currently, he lives in Houston, Texas, where he continues to work as a mathematics instructor.
