Sanjay Shankar is married to Gayatri for the last 12 years, and lives in the suburbs of Pune. He likes to spend his time with his favourite, Sasha, the golden cocker spaniel, who with her long droopy ears, the sweet eyes, can make any man go weak in his knees. Sanjay has worked in the financial services space for more than 15 years, both in the domestic and the international sphere, having seen the internal mechanics of the sector. The book draws a lot on his fertile imagination, helped by his first-hand knowledge of the industry, an innovative style, and a certain prowess in plot construction and story-telling. A self-confessed seeker of eclecticism, he considers his education as still far from complete. Parents sent him to a convent school, hoping that he would be educated, but all he got was some certificates proclaiming his literacy. College was no different, as he studied Economics, a subject in which there are as many theories as there are economists. Confused, in a last ditch effort, he landed in IIM Bangalore. Two years later, he came out, with another degree and a job, but still far from his ideal of the polymath. Travelling is a passion with Sanjay, having done the national beat, going to small towns and villages, meeting different kinds of people. The international circuit was even more helpful in widening horizons. But a compelling urge to understand different cultures and history still drives his insatiable wanderlust.
