An observational, descriptive and transversal study was carried out with the objective of identifying the behavior of periodontal diseases in older adults belonging to the CMF 36 of the Amancio municipality, Las Tunas, in the period from September 1, 2019 to February 28, 2021. The universe of the research was constituted by 80 older adults, the sample was conformed by 48 of them who presented periodontal diseases, selected by a random sampling. It was concluded that the female sex predominated in a little more than half of the sample studied and the age range of 60 to 69 years represented half of the sample. There was also a predominance of chronic fibroedematous gingivitis with almost half of the sample. Among the local risk factors, poor oral hygiene predominated with almost the totality of the sample and among the general risk factors, diabetes represented a little more than a third of the sample. Chronic periodontitis was more related to the female sex, represented by almost a third of the sample.
