A young woman in Lake County is almost kidnapped, and attempts are made on her life. This comes after other odd, possibly murderous, attempts are made on her grandmother's life. But when the grandmother dies, and her obituary is sent by an unknown person to ask for help..... The Man From the Shadows appears. He answers to the name of Candlepointe and appears out of nowhere to help those in need. He seems to have knowledge on almost every subject, and between he and his likewise capable partner, Albert Granville, the pair tends to the needs of those suffering from terrible predicaments.
