En las cumbres de los Cárpatos Blancos, en la comunidad de Zítková, se encuentran agazapadas unas pocas casas. Todo queda muy lejos. Allí, dicen, desde tiempos inmemoriales un linaje de mujeres con unas facultades excepcionales ha logrado preservar un conocimiento y una intuición que han pasado de generación en generación durante siglos. Sanadoras, sabias y videntes, transmiten su arte de madre a hija, y se las llama diosas. Si se dice que ven el futuro, ¿por qué no han sabido protegerse del suyo?
