All of them are united by the fact that almost every book became the milestone, event or the integral part of the history itself. The historic sketch by the French writer, diplomat and duke of the Italian princedom of Vicenza Armand-Augustin-Louis de Caulaincourt (1773 - 1827) is dedicated to the events of 1812 in Russia. The author was the participant of them, and not long before Napoleon's Campaign he had the post of the French ambassador in the Russian Empire. De Caulaincourt's memoirs are valuable for the large amount of facts and the analyses of the historic personalities - Bonaparte, emperor Alexander I, famous military leaders of the both armies.
